There’s a Clear Choice at the Ballot Box in Senate District 21
By: Brice Futch, Candidate for Georgia State Senate in District 21
On August 26, a critical election will be held in State Senate District 21 and voters have a clear choice to make: keep the establishment in power and settle for the status quo or use this moment as an opportunity to put a real conservative in office who reflects our values and vision.
Until recently, our district was represented by Brandon Beach, who simply could not be relied on to stand for conservative values when it mattered most. Whether it was signing off on massive government spending schemes, tax carve-outs for things like zoos and aquariums, or support for Green New Deal taxes, Beach was consistently out of touch with the people he served. His score of 38 from Club for Growth says it all: Beach talked a good game but failed to deliver.
Now, Beach’s best friend and handpicked replacement, politician Steve West, wants to take his place. That should worry every conservative voter who cares about our community’s future.
Steve West served on the Cherokee County Commission for more than a decade, and his record there is less than stellar. Just this year, a formal ethics complaint was filed against him by his own constituents when he refused to recuse himself from a major land deal due to his pre-existing relationship with the parties involved.
When Cherokee residents wanted to rein in massive development and slow the explosive growth of our region that strains public services, schools, and hospitals, Steve turned his back on us. Instead, he served as a major facilitator in land rezoning deals and stood with rich developers.
Steve didn’t stand with his constituents then, why should we trust him to stand with us in the future?
We don’t need a carbon copy of Brandon Beach in the State Senate, and clearly Steve cannot be trusted to fight for our values when times get tough. But we do have the opportunity to make a major change.
I’m not a politician – I’m a fireman, husband, father, and proud conservative leader who will not run away from the fight. I’m running for State Senate to preserve the Georgia values career politicians seem to have forgotten.
As your State Senator, I’ll defend the values of District 21 and champion our shared priorities. That means not rolling over for every big business project that lines an investor’s pockets. That also means standing up to the insider crowd in Atlanta. I’ll defend Georgia families and our way of life.
I’m running on a new vision. Since this campaign began, I’ve been the only candidate who has stood for Georgia family values. I want to eliminate the state income tax to give money back to working families, implement universal school choice, defend the right to life, and finally ban puberty blockers for minors.
I’m not part of the establishment, and I never will be. I answer to you, not well-heeled lobbyists under the Gold Dome.
The choice in this race is simple: conservative change vs. more of the same. The fact that Steve is endorsed by every establishment Republican in office tells you all you need to know. I plan on being endorsed by the voters on election day.
I’m running to put Georgians first, and I would be honored to earn your vote.
